The band's unique style is to combine everything from brutal thrash metal to the sweetness of pop music in one song. Bringing back all the basic energy of a young, early 80's heavy metal band.

Grimskull was formed in the summer of 2009, and spent the following 6 months recording their self entitled debut album. The album was released december 10th 2009, and became an instant hit among fans of rock and heavy metal.

The band was formed by Marita sundet (bass), along with brothers Trygve Johan Solheim (vocals + guitar) and Geir Arne Solheim (drums), with the basic idea of bringing back the gritty, raw energy of early 80's heavy metal. Marita was determined that the band should focus on a basic, simple idea, with a simple name, simple logo and a simple yet classic heavy metal image. Songs like Iron Eyes and Dream Master are instant hits among all fans of rock music that will go down in history as essential rock songs.
The band will continue touring to support their album, while writing new songs for their upcoming albums.

Trygve Johan Solheim - Vocals & Guitars

Picture
Trygve began playing keyboards at the age of 5, but it wasn't until he was 10 years old and heard Iron Maiden that he really started taking an interest in music. He started out playing drums in different bands like Violent Power and Juicy Jane, until he moved on to bass, guitars and vocals. His main interest was in making music, and realized early on that he had to know more than one instrument to be able to create a complete song on his own, and realize all his musical visions.

Marita Sundet - Bass

Picture
Marita became a fan of classic hard rock and heavy metal music at the age of five, after listening to Meat Loaf. She didn't come from a musical family, and didn't play any instruments until she was a teenager. But even though she didn't have any instumental experience, she' s always been a heck of a writer since she was a little girl when it came to dark poems and songs.
When she met Trygve in 2005, he convinced her to try playing the bass and start singing. So she started a solo studio-project, simply called "Marita", inspired by rock and 80s pop music.

In 2009, Marita really wanted to start a real metal band, so she and Trygve decided to do something together. The band became Grimskull, and the conquest for the world bagan!

Geir Arne Solheim - Drums

Picture
Geir started his musical carreer playing classic organ og then later keyboard and synth. Like his brother he also turned seriously into metal music when he heard Iron Maidens "No Prayer for the Dying" in 1990, all though he through the eighties was a big fan of bands like Twisted Sister, Alice Cooper, Europe etc. However Geirs main influence in the eighties was rocker Roy Orbison. Like Trygve, he started out playing drums (giving Trygve his ultimate musical inspiration), but also put a lot of focus into bass-playing, which he did for 10 years until he and Trygve switched roles. Geir is also an excellent classic guitarplayer and a not so exellent – yet classic – rock vocalist. He's also the world's brightest mind when it comes to wave power energy generation. Who would have thought ...?
