Grimskull - Kill With Rage
We are soon finished recording our second album, Kill With Rage, and here are the song titles:
(the order may change)
1. Kill With Rage
2. The Sign Of The Devil
3. Ain't Eazy
4. The Dark Avenger
5. Fight The Pain
6. Let Me Go
7. King Of Mystery
8. Soul Of A Soldier
While the first Grimskull album was a pure heavy metal album, we feel we are now closer in finding the real Grimskull sound. We have tried to explore different sides of our musical influences, and blend it with our classic heavy metal style. We never want a pure copy-cat band and go by the rules set by others. The old/classic bands were never afraid to explore new territory, and we feel it's something missing from a lot of the new bands today. We want to bring our listeners back to the exciting birth of metal, where anything was possible.
We were very inspired by old-school prog when we started recording this album, so we've decided to go with a rather dry 1977-influenced sound this time around. Something that suits both metal and progressive rock. We have also included synths on this one, something that was completely absent from the first one. We felt it was very necessary to get the sound and feel we wanted. We have made a real effort to re-invent ourselves without losing our identity.
This is in many ways the "Marita album", as she has written/contributed on 6 of the songs. The last album had a lot of old songs written by Geir and Trygve, and didn't leave much room for new material. But this one has mostly new songs.
This album is a blend between heavy metal, rock'n' roll, progressive rock, and a little synth pop, doom metal and thrash. Just enough of everything, to keep people guessing what's coming next.
