It was around 1992 that Geir got a hold of Motley Crue's best of album, called "Decade Of Decadence". And from the moment we put it on we were hooked. The first song was called "Live Wire", and it was just so fast, heavy and cool.
We had never really been into any of the 80's glam bands before. By the end of the 80's there was like hundreds of bands that looked and sounded the same, and most of them were just a little too happy and commercial for us. But Motley were just meaner and heavier than the rest. It was never embarassing to love Motley, even if we were heading well into the depressive 90's. Personal favorites were things from the first couple of albums, when they were more of a metal band than a glam band. Things like "Piece of your action", "Looks that Kill", "Shout at the devil". And they had a really cool "evil" image back then. But we also liked the heavier direction they took with "Dr. Feelgood" and "Primal Scream". They had a lot of great stuff! I think the biggest influence on us was Mick Mars' guitar riffs. They were simple, but very raw and heavy. But we also loved the drumming of Tommy Lee and the wicked voice of Vince Neil. Cheers, TJ
