Bergen Calling: Iron Maiden

TJ and I saw Iron Maiden live at Koengen, Bergen the 28th of June. Awesome show as always, and this was my fourth Maiden show (2006, 2010, 2013, 2014). I didn't see much because people were so freakin' tall! But it was fun, epic and great! It was amazing hearing "Wasted Years", "Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son", "The Trooper" and "Run To The Hills" live. Maiden - do come again! We simply can't get enough! :D

A short summary of the rest of the weekend: We left for Bergen on Friday. I just love listening to metal while driving, and the five hour trip went by like *that*. After we arrived at the hotel, I put on a rather slutty Maiden outfit and we went to have dinner at "Egon". After dinner we headed for Garage to see a Maiden tribute band called "Powerslaves" with Idol's second place winner (2013) Eirik Søfteland. The place was packed, and we just hung in the back loading our Maiden batteries with great cover songs.

On Saturday we ate a good hotel breakfast before we went shopping. I actually didn't get much. Summer = color explosion = less spending cash :) I got a black denim vest on sale for another DIY project aka. a new battle vest, a Darth Vader day planner book for 2014/2015 and a pair of black chunky 70s-ish heels.
We had coffee and the best cinnamon bun I've ever tasted at BIT inbetween the shopping before we headed back to the hotel room to relax and put on a ton of studs for the concert.
Like I said; Maiden was awesome! They are one of the best live bands ever! GREAT music, GREAT show!
After the show we sat on a bench eating pizza and chocolate croissant from 7eleven watching all the people. So many Maiden t-shirts! I like it. People should deffo wear metal shirts besides concerts too, not just once a year, haha!
After some junk food we went to the hotel to change once again before we went to Garage to see Maidenheads (another tribute band) and Blaze Bayley (yes, he sings on Grimskull's "Iron Eyes" :) Ex-Maiden vocalist and Wolfsbane frontman). Great show, the place was packed with crazy metal mother fuckers (Blaze's words, not mine) and it was a lot of positive fist in the air energy. Loved hearing "Future Real", "Virus", "The Clansman" and "Man On The Edge" live.
Tired and sweaty we headed back to get some sleep. I fell asleep humming "The Clairvoyant" with Maiden :)

On Sunday we slept as long as we could, packed and checked out. Ate breakast somewhere outside of Bergen, listened to music and tried to get some shut-eye (me, not the driver :p). We had dinner in Førde before we went home to unpack and relax for the rest of the day.
Can't wait for our next metal trip! \m/
